The Nature and Fire ones do good damage. The rest have similar heroes that can do their job.
It just that it take time for Death Maul to build up his damage.Example only using his max level skills: first hit 2x400% ATK, 2nd hit 2x400% ATK 2x80% ATK 3 turn dot, 3rd hit 2x640% ATK. His Double tab swaps to Double stab, Double Stab adds a dot, as long as the dot is on his target Double tab does 60% more damage. In 3 skill cast on one boss, one Deathmaul does 3360% ATK damage.

If he randomly attack 3 times without the Double stab buffing his damage he does 2880% damage. If he is the commander his skill damage is increased by 50% and reduces the turns it takes to complete that combo. The Nature version add a 35% ATK 3 turn dot per hit, so it would add 600% ATK as poison damage during that time.The Fire version gets 50% ATK increase for 1 turn after a kill. The wording is wrong or the skill is bugged since its not a 50% of damage dealt added to ATK.
If his skill always kills someone each turn it would increase his damage by 50%, but that is not realistic if he is fighting a boss with others doing AE damage. Let say he just kills adds then hits the boss with Double Stab that damage would look like this 2x600% ATK 2x120% ATK 3 turn dot a total of 1560% With 2 normal Double Tab hits for 2x400% ATK. He would do the same 3360% damage in 3 attacks if he is alternation between the boss and adds.Now lets compare this to Dragonslayer Tessa.
Archer vs Assassin base attack assassin have 5% more attack than archers I am not taking that into account. Maxed out he skill does 8x130% ATK plus 50% ATK as true damage per hit. She can using this skill twice in 5 turns, so she does 2080% ATK with 1040% ATK as True damage.
Tessa can do 2 skill attack in 5 turns Deathmaul does 3 attacks in 6 turns. In 30 turns Tessa does 62400% ATK + 31200% ATK as true damage vs Deathmaul 100800% ATK. That does not take into account that Double Tab will always have a 60% damage bonus if he is constantly attack the same target or the Nature evolution's poison passive.The Dark version adds a stun per hit, Water disables reflect def, and Light addes a 35%HP shield on kill.
